Jaaved Jaaferi said Raju Srivastava was the only comedian after Johny Lever who connected well with the audience. "He bridged the gap between English and non-English speaking audience through his comedy shows," Jaaved said. He said Raju's "earthy" humour catered to a wide Indian sensibility. "Wherever he stood among the people, he used to make them laugh," he added.
