24V is convenient for a lot of compact equipment, but matching the supply voltage is only the first check when selecting a motor.
I usually look at the load and speed requirements next. A motor running a light mechanism at high speed has very different requirements from one driving a wheel, lifting a load, or starting under heavy resistance. The controller and available current also need to be considered as part of the same system rather than as separate components.
