High GST will lead to shutdown of over 120 companies, online skill gaming industry tells govt

Online skill gaming companies wrote to Ministry of Finance and all GST Council members, saying high taxation will lead to shutdown of over 120 companies. They sought distinction on tax treatment from fantasy sports citing differences in business models. GST Council imposed 28% tax rate for online gaming on full-face value with no distinction between games of skill and chance.
